Perfect 3-Day Santorini Itinerary: Making Your Visit Unforgettable

Santorini, Greece

Santorini, Greece is hands down one of the most beautiful destinations I have ever traveled to. With its iconic white washed buildings situated on cliffs to amazing sunsets, this is the perfect location for your summer travels or a romantic honeymoon. The island was originally called Strogili, due to its round shape. Santorini is essentially what remains of the island following a volcanic eruption that destroyed much of its original landmass, creating the current caldera surrounded by steep cliffs.

Getting to Santorini & Around While There

You will either arrive to Santorini by plane or by ferry. I came to Greece on a direct flight from to Athens, and traveled to Santorini by Ferry (which I would highly recommend) - I will have an entire blog post coming soon on navigating the ferry system along with my favorite ferry lines.

When you arrive by ferry you will find yourself at the bottom of the cliffs surrounded by numerous restaurants, stores, and people with signs to pick up tourists! Most hotels will pick you up from the port (either for free or for an additional fee that you will pay for at the end of your stay). There are also numerous taxis that can bring you to your hotel / airbnb if you do not have private car service arranged in advance.

Airport / Ferry Private Transfer Options

To get around the island, we scheduled car service with our hotel for a flat fee or took Ubers, which was pretty convenient! We didn't find it necessary to rent a car in Santorini, but our hotel offered car rentals directly if we decided to do so.

Day One

Check into your hotel and explore the property / relax: I stayed at Apeiron Blue Santorini Luxury Suites. Honestly, when I arrived at the hotel, I immediately thought my boyfriend and I could spend our entire stay just enjoying the hotel—it was that beautiful. The staff was incredibly kind, and the views were absolutely stunning. They offer a range of room options, and I stayed in the loft suite, which had an upstairs area and a private pool overlooking the Caldera. The loft suite can accommodate up to 3 or 4 people in total.

Grab Dinner at Kaliya Reimagined Food & Drinks: As a seafood lover, I ordered the lobster tail, and it was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend it, but the lobster was on the pricier end.

Head to Fira to Explore Nightlife Options: There are a plethora of options to choose from when you arrive to this area, but I would highly recommend: Club Enigma Santorini Club, Koo Club, and more nightlife recommendations in the explore section as you continue to read through.

Day Two

Head to Oia: I stayed in Thira, which is about ~20ish minutes from Oia. On the second day, I would recommend exploring Oia, located on the northern point known for its amazing sunset views.

Take a picture at the Three Blue Domes in Santorini: There is a particular spot where people wait up to ~20 minutes or more for photos. I opted not to wait because it was way too hot to be standing in a line to grab a few photos. I did capture the photo below!

Grab Lunch / Dinner in Oia: There are so many locations! I would recommend walking around and exploring.

Sunset Cruise: A few options I would recommend:

Day Three

Head to the Three Bells of Fira: This area is way less crowded than the Three Domes, so an ideal spot for taking pictures. While there, explore the area as there are several restaurants, small souvenir shops, and amazing views.

Check out of your hotel to head to your next island…. For me, that was Mykonos. Stay tuned for my Mykonos blog dropping soon!
