Milan, Italy
When Milan crosses my mind, the epitome of fashion immediately takes center stage. Recognized as one of the world's four fashion capitals, Milan offers a shopping experience uniquely European in charm. For foreigners, the added perk of a VAT refund on purchases makes indulging in the latest trends more economically appealing than one might find in the United States.
Best Time to Visit Milan
My research suggests that the optimal times to explore Milan are from April to June and September to October. During these periods, the weather is milder, and the city sees fewer crowds. However, I believe that any time of the year is a good time to visit Milan. I ventured there in August, where the temperature ranged in the mid-80s.
Getting to Milano from the Airport
Touching down at Milan Malpensa Airport around 9:30 am, I opted for a Trenitalia experience. I purchased a ticket to Milano, costing €13 per person. The 45-minute journey from the airport to Milan was swift and efficient, with trains departing approximately every 20-30 minutes, making commuting into the city a seamless experience.
How Many Days Did I Stay?
My Milan travel spanned 2 days and 1 night, a timeframe I found ample to explore the city's major attractions. Milan, being a major metropolis, offers a plethora of activities to captivate any visitor.
Where I Stayed
Nestled at the heart of Milan, the Hyatt Centric Milan Centrale was where I decided to stay. Boasting a strategic location, this hotel seamlessly connects the old and new Milan. Situated conveniently close to the Duomo, premier restaurants, nightlife hotspots, shopping havens, and attractions, it offered a perfect vantage point. The hotel's impeccable interior design and our room left a lasting impression, making it a resounding recommendation for anyone visiting the city. I would suggest checking out the Organics Sky Garden Milan, which offers breathtaking city views over Milan’s skyline.

Italian Cooking Class
While Milan offers an array of remarkable restaurants, the allure of a home-cooked meal is unparalleled. I highly recommend embarking on an Italian cooking class with Chef Ilaria Castelli. Her expertise and the resulting meal stand out as one of my fondest culinary memories in Italy. She can be found on Instagram @chefandthecity _milano.
Nightlife
Despite my exhaustive pre-travel research on Milan's urban nightlife, my boyfriend and I found ourselves too tired to explore. However, this serves as an enticing reason to revisit the city! The top three nightlife spots that caught my eye were: Vibe Room, Monkey, and Elita Bar.
